Childhood Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a condition in which individuals experience seizures caused by uncontrolled or abnormal neuron firing. This causes disruptions in normal brain functioning. While seizures can be due to high fever, low blood sugar and other factors, when a child experiences two or more seizures with no known cause, it is typically diagnosed as epilepsy. Certain types of genetic mutations are associated with a higher risk of developing epilepsy.
