Vitamin B12 Deficiency
Vitamin B12, or cobalamin, is essential for the production of blood cells in the bone marrow, nerve sheaths, and proteins. It is commonly found in fish, eggs, and cereals. The functions of vitamin B12 include DNA and RNA synthesis, red blood cell formation, cell reproduction and normal functioning of the nervous system. A deficiency of vitamin B12 may lead to anaemia, neurodegenerative disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and cancers.
