An Overview
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or more commonly known by its abbreviation ADHD, is a disorder affecting the brain. It is known to cause issues relating to paying attention, sitting still and behaving properly. ADHD is the most commonly diagnosed mental disorder in children. It occurs more commonly in children, particularly boys, and can continue into their teens and adulthood.

Mother of child smokes cigarettes, drinks alcohol, or use drugs during pregnancy
Exposure to environmental toxins during pregnancy, or when child is at a young age

Easily distracted, lack of attention to detail, forget things, and frequently switch from one activity to another
Become bored with a task after only a few minutes, unless they are doing something enjoyable
Difficulty paying attention
Trouble completing or turning in homework assignments
Daydreaming
Fidgeting and squirming while seated
Trouble sitting still during dinner, school, and story time
Constantly moving
Impatient
